PROJECT SPOTLIGHT
St. Augustine’s Church Commercial Door Replacement
A worn exit opening can create problems beyond the door itself. St. Augustine’s Church in Chicago needed replacement of an existing fire exit door and frame, giving Goldy Locks the opportunity to address the opening as a complete system instead of replacing a single piece of hardware.
Our team replaced the worn door and frame with commercial-grade components appropriate for the opening. The work included NRP US26D hinges, a Pemko 36-inch neoprene door sweep and a General Lock exit device.
Each component serves a different function. The hinges support dependable door operation, the sweep helps seal the bottom of the opening, and the exit device provides straightforward operation from the egress side.
The completed replacement gave St. Augustine’s Church a renewed commercial exit opening with new door, frame and hardware components designed to work together instead of relying on a worn assembly.
