Security Built Around How Schools Operate
Schools manage a constant flow of students, teachers, administrators, visitors, contractors, and after-hours groups. Main entrances may need tight control during the school day while gyms, auditoriums, athletic areas, offices, labs, and other spaces operate on different schedules.
Goldy Locks helps schools and colleges coordinate access control, security cameras, commercial alarms, intercom systems, locks, doors, and hardware around those realities. The goal is to strengthen individual entry points while giving administrators better control over who can enter specific parts of a building or campus.
A coordinated system can also make everyday security easier to manage. Staff can adjust credentials, verify activity, monitor important areas, and address failing door hardware before a problem at one opening affects the rest of the security plan.
School & College Security Services
Security systems, doors, and hardware designed to work together across educational facilities.

School Access Control
Control staff access to exterior doors, offices, classrooms, labs, and other designated areas. Credentials can be added or removed as staffing and access needs change.

Commercial Alarm Systems
Detect unauthorized entry after buildings or designated areas have been secured. Alarm systems can add another layer of protection for offices, equipment areas, storage spaces, and buildings outside normal operating hours.

Video Surveillance
Monitor entrances, hallways, common areas, parking areas, and other important locations. Recorded footage also gives administrators a practical way to review activity after an incident.

School Intercom Systems
Verify visitors before granting access at controlled entrances. Audio and video intercom options can support communication between visitors and staff without leaving an exterior door freely accessible.

Commercial Doors & Hardware
Maintain the physical openings that security systems depend on. Goldy Locks works with commercial doors, frames, locks, closers, panic hardware, and related components used throughout educational buildings.

Fire Alarm Systems
Provide fire detection and alarm solutions for educational facilities. Goldy Locks installs and services fire alarm systems that help schools protect occupied buildings and respond when an alarm condition is detected.
EXPERIENCE YOU CAN TRUST
Security Needs Change Across a School or Campus
A main office entrance does not operate like a classroom wing, science lab, gym, mechanical room, or college residence building. Access levels also vary between teachers, administrators, maintenance staff, students, visitors, and outside contractors. A practical security plan accounts for those differences instead of applying the same hardware or access rules to every door.
- Main school entrances
- Administrative offices
- Classroom wings
- Science and computer labs
- Gym and athletic entrances
- Equipment and mechanical rooms
- Staff-only access points
- Exterior and emergency doors
PROJECT SPOTLIGHT
Homer Junior High School Greenhouse Access Control
Homer Junior High School needed better control over access to its greenhouse. The space still needed to remain accessible to authorized staff, but the school also wanted a way to protect the opening against unauthorized use and monitor the status of the door.
Goldy Locks installed an RCI electric strike along with a recessed door contact and magnet on the greenhouse door. The electric strike provides controlled entry at the opening, while the door contact allows the existing security setup to monitor whether the door is open or closed.
This project shows why school security often depends on more than adding a new lock. The door, locking hardware, access control equipment, and monitoring components need to work together at the same opening. By addressing both entry control and door status, the school gained a more manageable way to secure a specialized area without changing how authorized staff use the space.
School Security System FAQs
What security systems are most useful for schools?
The right combination depends on the property, but schools commonly use access control, security cameras, commercial alarms, intercom systems, reliable locks, and commercial door hardware. The system should be planned around entrances, restricted areas, building schedules, and the people who require access.
Can access control be added to existing school doors?
Yes, many existing school doors can be adapted for access control. The door, frame, lock, and existing hardware should be evaluated first because electronic access equipment still depends on the physical opening functioning correctly.
How can schools control staff access without managing large numbers of keys?
Electronic access control allows administrators to issue credentials and change access privileges without distributing traditional keys for every controlled opening. If a credential is lost or a staff member leaves, access can be removed without automatically rekeying every affected door.
Can an intercom help control a school's main entrance?
Yes. An audio or video intercom allows office staff to communicate with visitors before granting entry. Depending on the selected system and door setup, the intercom can work with access control so authorized staff can release the entrance after verifying the visitor.
Does Goldy Locks work on both school security systems and commercial doors?
Yes. Goldy Locks provides electronic security services as well as commercial door, frame, lock, and hardware services. That allows the team to evaluate the physical opening along with access control, intercoms, alarms, or other security components installed at the door.
